Add Blender 2D Animation Support (Similar to Spine 2D)

Hi GDevelop Team,

I would like to request official support for importing and playing back Blender 2D animations (like Grease Pencil or 2D meshes skeleton animations) directly inside GDevelop, similar to how the engine currently handles Spine 2D or DragonBones.

Why this is needed:
Spine 2D is an amazing tool, but the license is highly expensive for indie developers and beginners. Blender is completely free, open-source, and has massive popularity for 2D skeletal and grease pencil animation.

How it would benefit creators:

  • It lowers the barrier to entry for advanced 2D skeletal animations in GDevelop.

  • Creators wouldn’t need to export massive, unoptimized sprite sheets.

  • It brings GDevelop on par with engines that natively support Blender pipelines.

Thank you for considering this!

Why is this feature needed?
The current engine has excellent integration for Spine 2D, but Spine requires an expensive commercial license that solo indie creators or beginners cannot afford. Blender is completely free and open-source. Natively supporting a pipeline from Blender to GDevelop would lower the entry barrier for advanced 2D animations significantly.

i quite honestly have absolutely no idea how this is supposed to work

dont you know blender have 2d

yes? i have absolutely no clue how this is going to work in gdevelop. Grease pencil to my knowledge is a concept exclusive to blender

also, the 2d you speak of is the computer equivalent to drawing on a piece of paper. the paper is 3d

do you know what an armature is in Blender?

btw, like 99% of gdevelops userbase doesnt know how to use blender. the entire purpose of this program is being easy to use, nothing else. I think most would say the opposite about blender

oh thanks so how i add stickfigures from allen stark tutorial
