[Answered] Is there a shift in copyright? => No

Will the Gdevelop engine transform From being open source to being closed source, and if that happens, how will the community be affected, and why is the team doing that ?

Welcome @Davi_developer

What makes you think this is going to happen?

If I had known, I wouldn’t have asked, but there are many things, including loopholes that prevent the engine from being made available to everyone to prevent its misuse. And also if an engine based on the Gdevelop kernel is deployed Although I believe it’s impossible for a better engine to come out or be built, it’s still a possibility.

As far as I know, GDevelop is not going closed-source anytime soon

…no its very possible and multiple people have already done so.

Oh boy, do NOT bring up a certain root vegetable…

:carrot:

I have hope in that , man

I don’t understand what you mean ؟

Are you serious? Where is that? I never expected that , DesmonDev He’s definitely joking or exaggerating.

I hope this doesn’t start another controversy in here, but there was another engine made with GDevelop’s code:

Carrots Game Engine is Here

It certainly won’t be different from the main engine; there’s no team like Gdevelop team
They won’t be able to add anything or change

No changes are planned for our copyright policy.
The engine remains open-source.

I forgot about that variant

i didnt mean carrot…

I was very surprised by what you said; I didn’t expect there to be other engines.

whats up with the glaze dude?

I read the whole entire topic finally.
