Blurry interface

Hi there, in the Desktop version I started getting this blurring interface today out of the blue. It’s happened before but it fixed itself, now happening again.

I updated the drivers, no improvement.
A bug fix report popped up so I assume they’ve just uploaded some new work they’ve done… don’t know if that’s the reason, but any idea what’s causing it and how to fix this?

Hello @sunbathingecko!

Is the problem also on windows applications or other?

unfortunately not, seems isolated to just the GDevelop Interface

Not sure if it’ll help, but have you tried pressing CTRL + 0 (that’s zero) while the editor has focus in the browser? It resets any zoom of the browser.

Thanks MrMen, unfortunately it’s the Desktop version that’s causing troubles, and it’s not constantly the same amount of blur… imagine a camera that is trying to focus on an object going in and out of focus - it’s doing something like this

Hello!

And if you uninstall/reinstall GD!

Hola Amigo! Yes tried that too and nothing seems to help

So weird, any other idea what could be causing it?

OK so I’ve discovered that the issue is only on my external monitor, when I move it to the Laptop screen all is nice and sharp… does this bring us any closer to the solution?

@sunbathingecko I think your monitor needs glasses

Jokes aside, maybe try to change the resolution of your monitor screen or scale a few times to see if it will fix it?

My external monitor sometimes changes to a ridiculously small resolution out of nowhere, and I have to close it and open it to fix it. In general, not in Gdevelop.

Hello!

What is strange is that Windows applications don’t meet this problem.
So, it can be an issue concerning drivers as WebGL or others.
I don’t think the computer monitor is HS.
If i was you, i’ll update my drivers (use by example this tools https://www.driverscloud.com/ )

Thanks guys.
So yes the problem is isolated to the GDev app only, all other apps look fine.

I’ve updated the graphic drivers already as the first thing and it didn’t help either unfortunately.

It’s strange as it only started happening now when I plugged in my external monitor again, when I move the app to my laptop it looks fine.

The precisions are always useful: “…when i plugged in my external monitor…”
It is either a cable problem or an power supply issue of your monitor.

Ideally, test connecting with an another monitor.

Fix for Blurry Interface in GDevelop

Close GDevelop.

Right-click its shortcut → Properties → Compatibility → Change high DPI settings.

Check “Override high DPI scaling behavior” → choose Application → Apply.

Restart GDevelop.

This usually fixes the blur instantly.
