Choosing a gimmick for my horror game (Poll)

Recently i shared some game demos, the one that people seemed to like the most was a 3d horror game, so i started working on it again, and now i have a pretty good concept, but i’m still not so sure of what the main gimmick should be.
These are the ideas i came up with, they’re pretty similar and i’d apreciate it if you could answer the poll to tell me which you think would be scarier or more fun.

  • You can’t see the monster, but you can hear it’s footsteps
  • You can’t see or hear the monster, but you have a device that tells you how far it is

What if you can hear the monster, but you die if you see it, kinda like the basilisk from Harry Potter.
