Almost a year ago, I posted Crazy Mach Missile here as my first experiment with 3D in GDevelop.
At the time, it was a fairly simple experiment. I received some really nice feedback and suggestions from people in this community, and I was grateful for that.
One suggestion was to add different missile skins. I remember thinking that it would be a fun addition, but at the time I didn’t have enough motivation to take the game that far.
Then I stepped away from game development for a while.
Recently, I got back into game development by participating in a GDevelop’s weekend Jam #4. My entry, Counting Sheep, ended up taking 5th place, and that gave me a lot of motivation to start making games again.
After that, I decided to go back to this old project and see how far I could take it.
So, almost a year later, Crazy Mach Missile has been significantly updated.
I added:
-
A skin system and skin shop
-
Coins and progression
-
New gameplay elements
-
A shield mechanic
-
Various visual improvements
-
Performance optimizations for lower-end devices
-
A lot of small changes and polish
And yes, I finally added the missile skins that were suggested back then. ![]()

New Version↓
There’s more skins in the game!!
I’m still working on it, but it feels pretty satisfying to look back at the original version and see how much it has changed.
Thanks again to everyone who gave feedback on the original post. It was one of my first times sharing a 3D GDevelop game, and those early responses were part of what made me want to keep experimenting with game development.
I’m glad I came back to it.
