Is there a way to duplicate an animation in GDevelop without needing to reupload the same resource (with the same resource name)?
Hi!
Can you be more precise?
There is Copy/Paste. Is it suffisant for you?

You only upload resources if you are using cloud storage. Adding images to an animation is just pointing to resources either on your hard drive or on your cloud storage.
It would be nice if there was a duplicate animation button, but as far as I know the only way to do it is by hand. Fortunately you can select multiple files from the “add files” window, by shift-clicking, so it shouldn’t take that long unless you have a ton of frames…
Not really, you can duplicate frames within an animation but you can’t copy them to a different animation.
The fault to Piskel?

I don’t think so, Piskel doesn’t actually do the organizing of animations. When you edit an animation, GDevelop tells Piskel what frames to load. Then when you save, GDevelop imports the result back as resources. So basically Piskel is ignorant of animations, for example when you move frames around in the main object Properties window, that has nothing to do with Piskel (not even open)
Thanks for your explications.
I understand and realize Piskel is a “greffon” as we say in french.

Damn, that sucks. I don’t have the images saved on my computer anymore. So I will need to download them with the exact name from the resource and then reupload them.
If you can see them in the animation editor, then they exist somewhere. Either on your hard drive, or on the cloud. If they are no longer associated with an animation then you should still see them in the Resources panel and can add them to any animation
