Hi, my friend who is new to gdevelop is having problems with his preview,I took a look at it but have no idea what’s wrong with it, it just kept crashing just before it was finished loading. I checked the debugger and all it said was something about undefined not being an object.
Screenshots below:
I can confirm that about 30 minutes ago, I began encountering the same bug. When I try to preview a scene, I get the following error message:
The preview and debugger never load, and the circle loading icon on the screen freezes as seen in the screenshot. Again, I was able to preview the scene as normal just over 30 minutes ago, so this is very recent on my end.
After looking at the console, here is the content of the error message I’m getting when trying to preview the game:
Any ideas as to what could be going wrong here? I tried uninstalling and reinstalling GDevelop, but I’m having no luck. I reported the bug on GitHub, so hopefully it’s being looked into.
For @Flidude, try to make your friend reinstall GDevelop, their installation seems to be corrupted.
For @tjv189, try sending your project to the GDevelop team (If you do not mind it being public, on the github issues tracker, otherwise at hello@gdevelop.io) with reproduction instructions for the team to investigate the source of the crash.
@arthuro555 the thing is he is using the browser version of gdevelop so he can’t uninstall. Thanks anyways.
Ok, I uploaded the game project folder and emailed the link along with reproductive steps to hello@gdevelop.io
How can I stay up to date on the progress of the investigation? Thank you!
You can, actually, reinstall by clearing the site data and hard reloading the page:
I’ll make sure to post a message here if I see a fix pushed or hear something from the team. Otherwise, I assume they would contact you back per email when they have an update
Thanks, I’ll let him know.
