Functions > Parameter buttons for event sheet sentence

Every time we add a new parameter in a function, it could automatically create a button for that parameter under the event sheet sentence. Then when we write the sentence we can just select the relevant parameter button instead of typing out _PARAM1_ etc.

This would help workflow and reduce typing errors.

I like the idea
But then i think about my friend who is making dungeon generation extension combined with its own minimap

Good feedback - another way of doing it below with a drop down menu. It could be always a drop down menu or it switches to that from buttons once the number of parameters is more than six or so.

Perhaps you could have a hotkey and button to add PARAM? and then drop down on the ? to select number.

Maybe we are heading wrong direction?

This field for sentence in events sheet would be NOT scrollabe like it stays on top part of window BUT only as display info
You cannot edit anything in it

Now each param would have TWO additional text fields
Prefix and Suffix

We just fixed

  • Re arranging (when you move param up or down its pre/suffixes move with it)
  • Re building whole sentence from scratch cause of re arranging
  • Any need to write _PARAM#_
  • 100 times checking if _PARAM4_ is what it is cause you don’t remember for what it was for

Well i could name few more but i guess you get the idea

And only downside from it is that now each parama have 2 additional text fields and scrollable part is longer

But i think pros are better than cons

I think this is what you mean. I had a visual play with it and the results are here. It felt a bit awkward but here it is to see what people think.

Possibly but I think that if they can work it so there’s one single solution that works on both computers and mobile devices, it would be better.

Yes exactly
Even so we cluttered param section just think how many issues we removed at once
