I would say April fool’s, but GDevelop once uninstalled itself on my computer for some reason once, so I guess this doesn’t count as April fool’s.
Hi, how are you?
That seems strange to me, but it was possibly due to Windows Defender/Antivirus (they sometimes make mistakes like that). But I’m not an expert, so I wouldn’t know why it happened.
Did it happen out of the blue, or was it after you did something?
The incident of GDevelop deleting itself randomly happened like a year or 2 ago. My guess was that it was because I was at the time using the Microsoft store version of the app, which having the exe version installed at the same time. I’m assuming must have messed something up. I also remember this happening at least 2 times to me as well, so it was more than a one off incident.
Also, if it matters, thanks for your concerns, I’m fine.
Ah, okay, I think what happened is that by having the Microsoft Store version and the executable version at the same time, when one of the two decided to update, it was able to detect that another “copy” already existed and, when trying to clean temporary files or old registry entries, it ended up corrupting or deleting the installation of the other one.
Well, I’ve heard something like that happens in some programs.
But just in case, check your computer for viruses
. Anything can happen!
