Having trouble loading in my inventory

Before proceeding, please use the forum search feature at the top of the page to check if your question has already been answered.

I have made this structure to save and load data:

(“Simpleinventory” is to manage the simple inventory extension)

This is my save events:

It all works fine according to the debugger, I can see the correct values being stored.

And this are my attempts at loading my inventory:

Tilemap changes loads just fine. I can also see in the debugger that everything does get put into the SaveGameData structure perfectly. But it fails to actually add things to my inventory.

The way I have created my inventory is as an object “inventory_slot”, with the variables WhatsInside, Stacks, and Position. To display what’s its holding I have made animations for each of my items and named the animation after my item. I can pick up things from the ground just fine and use them. Its just this loading part that I haven’t cracked yet.

Anyone got any good ideas?

This works, but it requires I set the “Load game from device storage” to not restart all scenes currently played, which I of course don’t want. So maybe the sinner is this action being used wrong.

Which isn’t loading in the first one your own inventory or Simple Inventory?

If it is your inventory slot, I don’t fully understand what you’re doing but it seems you’re making a mistake while loading by starting the loop from 1 instead of 0 as an array starts from 0.

You saved the Slot Number in Position, but you check if Slot Number is equal to loop before you set the values. Slot Number and loop were never interconnected this seems to be wrong.

A better approach will be to check Slot Number with the child which is the slot number you saved previously.
I do have a question, if I close the scene and open it again will Slot Number change or it always remain the same per instance?
