Hello everyone!
This is an introduction and an announcement about my studio, Riffel Games, and my passion project.
My name is Marcos Riffel, I am 55 years old, and I discovered GDevelop through a Humble Bundle package. From the start, I was drawn to tools that don’t rely on scripting. This allowed me to focus entirely on creation and design, which I’ve always been passionate about.
Today, I’m here to talk about Traíras, my most important game. It already has an impressive history: I started the first version in the 2000s, and in 2011, the iOS version reached first place among all the most downloaded apps in Brazil on the iTunes Store!
Thanks to GDevelop, I am revitalizing the project! The complete Steam version is expected to be released next year, bringing new features, more animations, different levels, and a lot of fun. For those familiar with my work on the platform, my game Switched Destiny placed third in the GDevelop Game Jam 4!
I do everything myself in the games—from level design to programming and art—except for the music. This is my progress from zero to now, and I hope you like it!
About the Game: Traíras
Traíras is a platformer game, but not a typical one. It is entirely focused on aquatic levels. Think of the underwater stages of Donkey Kong Country combined with the exploration of Ecco the Dolphin.
The complete game will feature:
- 25 Exploratory levels.
- 8 “Running escape” levels against the clock.
- An epic final boss fight stage.
Connection and Feedback
I withdrew from the last Next Fest to refine the game after a friend gave me excellent critiques, which helped me see what needed improvement. Therefore, I highly encourage constructive criticism! Your feedback is essential because when you’ve played a game thousands of times, as I have, it’s easy to lose perspective, and your input is crucial.
I want to connect more with the GDevelop user network, as I feel I don’t contribute as much as I should.
The demo is already available on Steam! Please, search for “Traíras” on Steam, test it out, and add it to your Wishlist!
Share it and give me your feedback on what I got right, what I got wrong, and what can be improved!
Cheers!
