How do I make the banch mechanic in hollow knight

Hello,
I am making a small metrodvania game but I didn’t know
How do I make enemies that I killed respawn when I get to a saving point like the bench in hollow knight?

I hope somebody tells me If he knows how

Hi doesn’t it just save progress/position and restart the scene in hollow knight? I’ve just done a metroidvania and just saving progress to json file. I think that the benches in HK are usually in a separate scene and when you go back next door…the creatures have respawned. you could maybe try ‘include objects from external layout’ if you want to respawn but not restart the scene
