How to keep game in sync after resuming from pause?

I’m making a rhythm game and have beat indicators that are calculated to move using forces. The pause should keep everything synced (forces, music) but the indicators go ahead of the music when resuming the game. I have tried different actions in the pause logic and behaviors for the moving indicators.
