Local multiplayer title select

I would like to have a first scene with " how many players will play" type thing, push a button on the gamepad, 1-4 players, then all push ready then game starts.

so if 1 player, player1 will play
2 players, player1 and player2 will play.
etc…

how do i do that?

What exactly are you having an issue with?
Check how many gamepads are connected, check which gamepads press a button, and increment the number of players accordingly.
