Making the camera slow down after distance from player

So, I’m refining my camera “look-aroud” feature and i want to make the camera (after a distance from the player) lerp less and less untill it stops.

By now I’ve got this:

This doesn’t slow the camera down gradually, and I have no idea how to do that.

I’m assuming there’s a limit to how far you want the camera to go. If so, create a hidden sprite, say called hidden_camera_focus.

Put hidden_camera_focus around the player at the maximum distance you want the camera to get to, and at the same angle as the angle from player to camera.

Then lerp the camera to this hidden object. It will stop when it gets to the object.
