Mini Game Jam courseware

I’m holding a mini game jam for absolute beginners using GDevApp at my local community centre on Jan 15, 2015.

I’m putting together a very simple course booklet for participants to follow along with. For what it’s worth, I’ll post a copy of the curriculum here after the event in case someone else might find it a useful resource to use or remix for their own events with their local community.

Here’s hoping it goes OK. :stuck_out_tongue:

Can you share an address? Maybe some forumgoers live nearby. Also if possible, use desktop version of GD - it’s more powerful.

I’m highly interested in seeing this jam being done using GDevApp.
It’s perfect for absolutely beginners, and anybody that will want to do more will be able to switch to GDevelop after.

So let us know how things are going with your jam and GDevApp

Thanks for the comments!

This one will be on GDevApp to help the participants realise they can create their games anywhere without having to do an install on the host computer.

I have a feeling that the closest forum member might be several hundred (or thousand) kilometres away. I’m based in regional Australia in a place called Dubbo. But if there is somebody in the area, you’re welcome to come and lend your expertise!

We are doing a quick fire 3 hour session for 7 to 11 year olds, and then for 12 year olds +. Add a bit of cosplay and it should be a fun day.

Thanks. I recall there are some other Aussie members here so who knows? Dunno if they’re from Dubbo though or live close enough to travel there/have time to do so.

Here’s some post jam vids to help the students and for anyone else to use Some Video Documentation for new users and educators
