The Thumper is the first boss to jump and dash at the player. Compare that to the Ruin Ghoul, who just chases you, and the Souless Queen, who doesn’t move at all and summons minions instead.
I can’t say anything about Zebtibiver because I haven’t made him yet.
Also, the Thumper was originally called the Stomper, but I randomly changed it during development without realizing it until it was already released. But I do like Thumper better than Stomper.
No offense, but I feel like this game needs a graphics overhaul, like get an artist to redraw all the stuff and make it look more professional. I can see you are putting tons of work into the lore and worldbuilding, good job, it just needs a better visual appeal if you are serious about this game.
Personally, I occasionally change the art style for each area to match the mood of that area. More jolly areas require smaller assets, and more serious ones require larger assets with larger palettes. Of course, this doesn’t work for all games, but it is the style of mine.
Chapter 2: Souless is out now! This is the largest major update for the game so far! Here are some of the major features and changes added in the update:
Most of the game’s code has been rewritten! Anything from the health system to the save system to how the game loads everything! To optimize the game, I have made 10 custom extensions for the game (which one of them you can include in your projects). In addition, areas are now External Layouts.
2 New Areas and 3 New Bosses
The Soulands and Spawn are now in the game! The Soulands includes the Zebtibiver and Souless Queen bossfights, and Spawn includes the Thumper bossfight. See if you can defeat all 5 bosses in the game…
Intro Scene
There is now an intro cutscene whenever you press New Game! If you have already seen it or want to skip it, hold left-click for 3 seconds.
Game Buff
The entire game has increased in difficulty! All bosses and enemies have increased health and damage!
What’s Next?
Of course, Chapter 2 isn’t the last Chapter for Twardy 2.0. Chapter 3 is the next one, and you will have to wait to see what’s next…
Hello gamers and game developers, I am 99 Studios , and I am here with very important things to announce in the fourteenth (and far from last) Twardy 2.0 State Of The Game post!In case you’re new to Twardy 2.0 or you forgot about it , Twardy 2.0 is a soulslike game where you can save the world… or do nothing . Twardy 2.0 State Of The Game is where I present what happened during the month and what is going to happen next month in Twardy 2.0 . This State Of The Game post will contain new announcements and highlights for Twardy 2.0 fans!
The first thing I would like to cover is that Chapter 2 has released! This major update took me 151 days to create, and it includes many overhauls to the game, 3 new bosses, and 2 new areas. You may have noticed that Chapter 2 had a very quick patch, as shown on the Twardy 2.0 Website. This was due to a game-breaking bug that needed to be fixed immediately.
Lastly, I am announcing that Chapter 3’s development has begun! The goal for Chapter 3 is to improve the game whilst adding core mechanics. One of those mechanics is planned to be preset creature spawning, which will hopefully improve performance.
…This State Of The Game post is relatively short compared to previous ones, but that is mainly because not much has happened.
Thank you very much for reading this Twardy 2.0 State Of The Game Post. Please stay tuned for more Twardy 2.0 information in the devlog and the State Of The Game post in July! Also, if you have any ideas or feedback about the game or any devlog posts, please post them in the Twardy 2.0 Community on Itch!
99 Studios was always the coding department of my “company”, but it slowly swallowed up all of the other departments until I just replaced WorldStudios with 99 Studios.
Twardy 2.0 has been in development since January 11, 2026. Over that time the scope has greatly expanded whilst the game’s core takes shape. Today, I’m here to present the current state of Twardy 2.0, and what will happen next.
In summary, Twardy 2.0 is slowly but surely reaching its full potential. I spend a lot of time working on this game, and I create it with passion. I have a story to tell, and I will tell it.
