This issue has been plaguing me for a while.
I’m trying to make an animation of a ring that gets bigger.
In the preview, it expands from the center like it should, but in the actual project, it expands from the topleft corner, which kills the illusion. Is there any way to fix this?
You can change the origin point to match the center point.
How would you go about doing that?
You can change and add points of a sprite using the cross hair icon on the sprite editor:
Sprites always have origin and centre points, you can change them as you see fit. (Apart from resizing and stuff origin also affects how sprites are positioned when you spawn them. From my experience setting origin to the same as center is often necessary to make object spawning work as intended.)
Weird. Whenever I leave the window and come back, the center points are undone…
Centre always resets to actual centre of the image I think. Does changing origin affect the scaling as intended?
You can change both, at least last time I checked it was like that
I’ve changed the origin, but it still seems to expand the wrong way…
To modify the Centre point, you can’t do it from the keyboard input the first time. First modify the Centre through the mouse, selecting the Centre and then doing a click in the sprite at any location, then you’ll be able to modify it through exact coordinates input
