Hello there!
Using GD a couple of years, and for now i’m working on my first serious project.
And to be honest - every day i feel pain in difference places of my inspiration.
I would like to share some thoughts…
GD have great market positioning, just for guys like me (i’m working full time as full-time project-manager in game-development company), and i don’t want to “waste” my time in Unity or UE - i’m not a programmer.
What i REALLY want to have in GD everyday (and it not so hard features i think):
- “FAVORITES” PIN, for some blocks of code, which i’m working at. 50% of working time i’m touching mouse scroll or just click on scroll bar when i need to make sure that previous logic doesn’t affected or make changes.
- FAVORITE CONDITIONS & ACTIONS - i have to copy “array child count” quite often, because a creation of new condition or action is not so easy way, when doing it 20-30 times per day…
- DEBUGGER ACTIONS or DEBUGGER SEARCH - i’m often using built-in debugger tool, but i’m need to search every time what i need (especially scene variables). If i could to add some debugger actions in code instead of using tons of text-objects - it would be much easier to work.
I understand reasons why GD have “personal” realizaton of functions and other stuff, but if i want more professional use of GD - i have to leave GD, but i’ll better PAY for convenience in GD then use other game engines (maybe good idea to add stuff above in paid-plan subscription for more “professional use” of GD).
I have to excuse for emotions, but months of everyday using GD makes me suffer sometimes and built-in AI-assistant can’t reduce it even through custom extensions…).
P.S. Many many thanx to developers of GD for such a great product.
