I intend to stay devoted to this and such but uh yea!
You can’t really do much but I am hoping this project will be a good way for me to learn more about the engine as well as provide a good structure for those looking to make something like this!
(AI was not used in development of the Prototype and will hopefully never be used when developing it)
I am currently testing out colors and such
This preview contains early testing for 3 new colors, updated instructions, a new canvas size, and some minor adjustments
Enjoy!
[LINK REMOVED DUE TO GLITCH]
Edit: I remember GDevelop having something that could let you get access to Versions of your project without having to release the version, I have no clue why it was removed but it’s a bit upsetting since it makes things a lot harder but its fine I guess, I might as well release the version then…
thats the main stuff u can maybe add later if you want, but if you could can u change eraser to 2 coz i have to go all the other side of the keyboard and my finger is just too lazy so please?
I don’t intend on this being a full-fledged Pixel Art Tool or even a replacement to Piskel, I just saw a bunch of people complaining about Piskel being crappy to use so I just felt like making this
I do intend on adding
Export and Import (Most likely only Export)
Colour Selection Menu
Area Select
Fill Tool
An Actual UI
Canvas Size Adjustments
After this is done, I might do more for it but other than that if it goes well and it is proven to be a quality competitor/successor to Piskel then it will be removed from gd.games and put on the itch.io marketplace
This is just my current plan for Pixa so it is extremely prone to changes
The Color Selection Menu will not include a Color Gamut (maybe…)
The next Update will introduce 4 New Colors (Yellow, Purple, White, and Grey/Gray)
I will also make a Prototype UI too
Alright so the first two updates have been dealt with and have added some essentials when it comes to drawing stuff and NOW!
I can begin the more important things
This is what the third update will hopefully include
Revamped UI
Canvas Tileset Re-Added
Color Selection Menu
Ability to Screenshot (Prototype Export Feature)
Ability to Flip Canvas (Prototype Sprite Flipping)
I am planning on stopping development of Pixa for a little bit so I can devote my time and limited resources towards… something
So I am going to do this poll that will end tomorrow morning and will see how many you are happy with development and are fine with it being stopped and how many want Update 3 before it is stopped
After a bit of consideration, I gave up on this project and will no longer be working on it
I realized that through a lot of old/canceled projects that I’ve worked on, it is safe to say that I hated working on this the most
I felt like I was riding on a lot of pressure during development and I intended for this to just be a funny little project that originated from the fact that there was a massive dislike due to Piskel being used
So yea, I will keep Pixa up on gd.games or something and maybe in the future I might (extremely slim chance) do something for Pixa
Anyways Update 3 stuff is basically just the Canvas Tileset being re-added and nothing else really so enjoy!
Thanks for making this Taco! I’ve been watching the whole time, just haven’t been replying here.
Of course, you could always upload the project files somewhere and see if other people could make spinoffs, I’m sure someone here could add something to it!
