Please tell me if the Pew sound effect is too loud

Hi guys!

Can you check out this short video and tell me how bad the pew sound effect is?
When I first made it, I knew it was too loud and terrible, but I kept it for testing reasons.

Now I finally plan to change it, and I will probably have a different one for each character, but I kind of grew fond of it, so I just want to see if it’s indeed that bad.

Hi Digitalstickmans, I tested it on phone and laptop with the sound level suited to an appropriate level for me for the music. I don’t think the pew is excessively loud. It could be a little bit lower but not much. But I think the repetitiveness of it would start to get annoying for me. There’s a GD video about game ‘juice’ and one of the things they have in it is varying the pitch of sounds. So that could be something to look into besides different character sounds.

I agree. I feel that the volume should be lowered a bit.

Also funny thing is I have random pitch levels for most sound effects except for the Pew sound :sweat_smile: Maybe because I was planning to change it and forgot about it.

I still don’t know if I want the pew sound to be more realistic or more retro.

It’s not too loud.

I’ve played similar games in actual Arcades where it’s a LOT louder.
