I recently posted a “guide” to help game jam newbies out. So if this is your first game jam, but you don’t know how to get started, then maybe the post will help you out a bit.
I should also mention that I go over some really basic stuff on what to do, like “following the game jam rules”. You would be surprised how many people break them.
Good guide. And also, assume things will go wrong at the end when you’re trying to submit. Doing all the little details for descriptions etc takes time. So please give yourself time at the end to get it submitted. Also, if you need help near the end, ask questions here as early as possible because it takes people time to answer
Thanks for posting this @Yhac10 - good luck everyone! I’m unable to attend this year due to work commitments - I’ve never entered one! Perhaps i’m just shying away from pressure!
This jam is actually a long one. When I’m actively using GDevelop, my default setting is no I’m not going to enter the jam, but then if the theme interests me I do it. And actually finishing a game is a nice feeling.
I’ll see what the theme is! If its ‘platformer featuring vector based animations’ - I might be tempted! …but i guess you don’t get away with that sort of thing!
Personally, I said I’m going to enter but I will be very busy around that time so if the theme doesn’t interest me, I’ll probably be out as well. It all depends!
