The idea is to be able to recognize users who have been excluded or banned on both platforms, and being on both platforms is a definite advantage for recognizing profiles.
The idea is also to have moderators who are well integrated into the community. Having someone only from the forum or only from Discord is a bit like having a limited vision.
Itās also that forum moderation is not an issue in itself; there is more issues to handle on Discord with the scam&spam.
To add nuance to the type of profile Iām looking for:
A moderator is not just someone on one network or another.
Someone who does their utmost to find arrangements between parties.
Someone who, as the word āmoderatorā so aptly puts it, knows how to moderate themselves in their statements.
Someone who knows how to take a step back. Who knows how to separate their role from their personal opinion.
Someone who is already very present by choice.
Unfortunately, it might be like looking for a unicorn. But I still believe in it.
I know who you are looking for cause i am here long enough to know all moderators

And i think that is the biggest issue
You are trying to hit that perfect score
I never will be even near moderator material and my only virtue is i am active
But i know few ppl who are either only on discord or only on forums
Funny enough i donāt know any1 who is active on both
I could totally help spot users who try to evade bans or have accs in both places and i donāt need to be mod for that
But for example there is one user on discord who is very active there
Very chill and cool person
And i never seen him argue with any1 neither i seen him even try to humiliate any1
Very polite i would say even little bit to much for his own good
And long story short
He is active only on discord but would make fine damage control person even so he is not active on forums
Bar you set shrinks circle of possible candidates dramatically
I would at least consider as option B taking ppl who qualify for a mod but can only support only 1 place
Where in reality i think 1 or 2 who can be on both discord and forums would be enough
HOWEVER maybe i do not know scope of users/request/issues mods here need to handle and i am missing the point
This is just an idea I had, and please let me know if itās bad, but wouldnāt it be best to have 2 moderators, one for the forum and one for the discord? I get that thereās the problem of recognizing profiles if a user gets banned from one but not the other, but there could always be a moderator chat of some sort to say like āThis user has been banned from thisā or etc. Also, if someone is really going to be spamming/scamming on one or the other, I donāt think theyāre going to have the exact same name/profile on the other. Also, if person A is spamming and gets banned from the discord and comes to the forum named āPerson Bā and spams more, the moderator on the forum would notice and look into them anyway, regardless of whether or not they were banned on discord.

I canāt really quote anything to point to as reference since I am using a mobile device but I do agree with the thing that shows which user is banned from where aa moderators can refer to this when looking for blacklisted users!
Just wondering, are you also looking for a moderator for the reddit, or just the forum and discord? (Iāve seen a pretty active moderator on the reddit, but thought Iād ask anyway)
