This is happening to me aswell, here’s a video to show the glitch. It happens me in the desktop app and sometimes it works and others not.
I want to hide a layer but I can’t because the buttons don’t work

It worked for me aswell. I think opening menus causes this issue, for some reason they block and you have to close one using the X button and open them again

I have same problem. Started few weeks ago with no reason. Reinstalling gdevelop didn’t help. It seems to be common issue that came with an update in december. Never had this before. Using gdev for years.

I can confirm, happened to me as well just now
Both layers and object groups don’t open
Re-installing did nothing
This has to be an issue with the UI in GDevelop

Try closing all the panels and reopening them (even the ones that are working).
This is because in some cases, panels can overlap or have a dimension of zero.

Here on the video the Layer panel is stuck behind the Properties panel.

Alternatively, on your computer, you can open the folder: AppData\Roaming\GDevelop 5
Delete all its contents, and relaunch GDevelop.
Be careful, back up the folder before deleting it so you can restore it if needed.

Thank you for reporting an issue. It should be fixed in the next release.

As a workaround, you can reset the layout in the preferences:
