Trying a different engine

[I am not trying a different engine.]
I realized that GDevelop is such a good engine, that i couldn’t leave it.
The community is great, the tutorials are awesome, i cant leave GDevelop.
I might try different engines from time to time, but i will stick with GDevelop.

Cool, but what engine are you switching too?

Not every engine is right for everyone and there’s nothing to prevent anyone from using multiple engines. Using another engine or another forum will also likely to create different types of inspiration and knowledge.

There is a whole other world within GDevelop. You have the main event sheet and then you have Javascript and extensions. Javascript works best in an extension where you can pass parameters to it. Extensions also allow you to reuse the Javascript.

In case you’re not already aware, extensions allow you to create your own conditions, actions and expressions. As well as behaviors and custom (prefab) objects like sliders and buttons.

Some Javascript links.

I like GDevelop because it’s great for making small-mid sized games quickly but if I wanted to make something bigger or more advanced 3D options I’d probably use Godot or Unity.

I haven’t thought about it, but i think i will go with stencyl

im no expert here but…Why flash and action script? - I thought that died out in 2012!

This is what matters!

The latest version was released almost a year and a half ago. Poke it with a stick and see if it’s still alive

Flash died in 2021, although it’s death was announced all the way back in 2017. Shame really, there were so many games made with flash. Oh well, at least there’s still Flashpoint.

Well, it being dead means i cant use it… Also, my games are “flash” type. And i thinks its easy, i learned some of it

You know what? On second though, I might not switch engines completely…

On second thought, i might stick with GDevelop. I still want to learn Actionscript, but i’ll use GDevelop and Adobe Flash side by side
