# Tween Effect Positioning Issue

Hi everyone,

I’m currently working on a project where I aim to create an effect that makes all other elements jump into an empty cell when it is selected and hold that position. However, I’m running into issues when attempting to select a different cell after the initial selection.

Could anyone assist me in resolving this problem?

Events:

I’m not exactly sure. Are you reusing the same objects that get tweened? If so, maybe the last selected object’s z-order is set to 99. So, the next time there are 2 objects with a Z-order of 99. I’m assuming when objects have the same z-order that either the oldest or newest object gets the top position.

If that’s the case then when the objects are moved to the top then the z-order could be set to a lower number.

I’m just guessing from what I can see.

Edit:
If you want that first picked number to stay where it is then you could use the z-order or an object Boolean like placed. And at some point filter it out. With z-order ≠ 99 You might need to do it multiple times

Thank you for taking the time to answer my question. I believe the issue arises because I use ‘Pick all instances of AnswersGroup,’ since the answer I select is within that group. Therefore, it followed

I have an `AnswersGroup` corresponding to the variable `AnswerID` like this: `[1, 2, 3, 4, ..., 8]`

When I choose for the first time, I want to pick all from the group.

When I choose `AnswerID` equal to 2, I want to pick `[1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8]`
When I choose `AnswerID` equal to 3, I want to pick `[1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8]`

I’m feeling lazy and tired. I would probably use Boolean variables but z-order works. You need 2 states or arrange it differently but I hope you get my concept. Before going down, you need to filter out the placed. And then again when reseting. So, it depends on when you set it to placed.

This is how I tested it. I just used a target object. And a couple of object variables to store the original positions.

Just in case it wasn’t clear. Here it is with object Booleans placed and selected.

It works, to stay in place, but I don’t understand why it is having this effect

Can you post the current events including the ones that make the numbers go back to the top?

Are they the same objects or is it adding new objects?
