Waste of Space games

Have you ever made a game that was never meant to be a real game. A game you made for one singular occasion, but is now just sitting in your list of games, collecting virtual dust like a book you said you would read, but never got past the front cover?

Well if you have, I would like to see them.

As for my own submission, it would have to be Steamboat Willie

The name of this “game” should tell you exactly what this is, web “port” of the old Disney cartoon, Steamboat Willie. No gameplay, not secrets that can be found, just the old short cartoon, replaying over and over again until you remember you left the tab with the game open, to which you then decide to close it.

As for the reason I made this, I have multiple. Firstly, because I can, secondly, I made this around the time Steamboat Willie entered the public domain (obviously) and wanted to join the trend of people reuploading the short.

I also used to have Steamboat Willie on my itch.io page, but I took it down, mainly because it was the only “game” I had on there that got any plays, which kinda annoyed me as my other games weren’t getting any attention at all at the time.

You can technically still access it, but you would need a password.

So thats my “waste of space” game, what’s yours?

I made a really dumb game recently, it’s not even uploaded. It isn’t fully finished but I only spent a few days working on it. I might upload it so you can play it, as it isn’t fully finished and I don’t really have any plans of finishing it.

Alright. Just added it to gd.games. TheSite_New | Play on gd.games! It is called TheSite_New (or TheSite.new) and for what it’s about, I can’t really tell you. You just have to see for yourself.

Edit: If anyone actually likes the game, please let me know as it may motivate me to finish it! (Not that I want to finish it anyway)

I have this thing I like to call my “prototype graveyard” where I have worked on some cool mechanics or systems that will never see the light of day. I probably have made 100’s of them over my years of making games. I have no regrets though because I have learned quite a bit from making them even if I am the only one to see them in action.
