Weird! object.vars in events being being replaced by another

Weird thing happened today. I was changing the string on a text object to display the player object variables and when i looked up, all the references to the number variable ‘automovement’ in events (actions and conditions) had been replaced by the first object number variable ‘horizontalspeedmax’ - ive changed then all back again …but there was quite a lot of them.
hang on no - it has also changed player.gotoy to player.horizontalmax in all the expressions
needless to say - things are playing up.
tomorrow im going to create new variables to replace the ones that are playing up. I set a text var to display player.automovement and its definitely displaying player.horizontalmax
the object is a scene object and i haven’t duplicated the scene. There are three variables that changed - but they didn’t change everywhere! and are the most recent and so ill replace these tomorrow with three new ones - like a garage mechanic!

Following up - I created new variables and got rid of the old ones and it seems ok so far.
Im having a weird disable event issue though - when i disable an event it disables a previous event that i was working on somewhere else too…it’s like its messing with me! Anyone else having this issue?

Isn’t that your issue?

cheers - it probably was then - i’ll check which version im using …i thought i was having a senior moment at first …has anyone else noticed things any events disabling themselves?

edit - im using 5.6.261 now - might have updated this morning
