Anyone here using custom PCI brackets for arcade or simulator PC builds?

I’m working on a custom arcade PC build for a GDevelop project, and I’ve noticed that small hardware components can have a big impact on system reliability. While exploring different mounting solutions, I came across AKStamping and their Globe Brackets, which are designed for applications where precision and durable metal components are required.

In custom gaming systems, simulator setups, and arcade cabinets, finding the right PCI bracket can sometimes be challenging, especially when using specialized expansion cards or compact PC enclosures. A properly designed bracket helps keep components secure and can improve the overall organization of the build.

Has anyone in the GDevelop community worked on custom hardware projects where a specific PCI bracket or mounting solution was needed? I’d be interested to know what solutions you have used for arcade machines, kiosks, or other interactive systems and how they helped with hardware stability and installation.

I don’t know much about the subject, but there’s no need to make a PCB.
GDevelop creators have used screens and tablets made for this purpose for their interactive expreriences in museums and cinemas.

I’ve built many PCs from scratch over the years, including custom water-cooling loops, air/water hybrid setups, monoblocks, and more, but none arcade setup.

Now, I don’t know why you’re building it or how much computing power you actually need. From my personal experience, though, I don’t think that GDevelop runs well on a low-end PC or that it runs well on low hardware.

In my opinion, a mid-tier or even high-tier-range system is the better choice.

In your case, I’d go with an open-frame case (you can find decent ones for around €50).

The advantage is that it’s easier to clean, and since I assume you’ll be mounting it inside a cabinet, it’ll also be easier to position and secure using standard screws.

That said, I think that’s actually the easy part.

The real challenge will be building the cabinet yourself.You’ll need to cut the wood with very precise measurements.

Alternatively, you could buy a pre-made cabinet, but that would increase the overall cost.
