At those who have already published their game on plateforms

Hello

This post is aimed at those who have already published a game, whether on Steam, Itch or Google Play.
I would like them to tell us about their journey, difficulties and all things related to the publication of their game(s)

Looking forward to reading you.

Nothing that interesting for me. I started with publishing on Google play. Not much success there, mainly since the quality of the games themselves where not very good. The last game I released on there was untitled maze game, which was also the game I had up on itch, due to the 3D jam at the time. Eventually, lost in neopolis followed as the only other game from Google play that was put to itch.io, and now that’s where I publish most of my games, other than liluo.io and gd.games and liluo.io, which is where I have the most games up. I have been asked by other people to put my games up on more popular websites like poki or crazygames, but I’m fine where I am now.

Thank @Yhac10 for your answer.

I note that you prefer Itch.

@Crowbar_Coder should maybe know

I have published several games on itch, got little to no income (below 20 dollars). Now i am trying to publish on steam, got my game page out. There were a few steps, had to create many pictures for the steam store page, and get it reviewed by Steam, but they approved it! also had to pay 100 USD which is annoying. However, I think there should be a bigger audience on steam, I guess we’ll see! publishing on itch is really easy and takes only 5 minutes, while on Steam I would give a week to get the store page published at least, and three weeks to release a game (if you wanted to release it so soon).

I’ve also found that itch doesn’t make much money, especially for myself who makes templates for GDevelop (meaning over 99% of the itch community is already not interested, as they use other engines or just don’t make games in general).

Thankfully, selling templates on GDevelop’s app is working out much better for me :smile:

Haha same selling templates is a good money maker! As the upcoming article should tell you soon.

Hi all!

Thank to all.
