I Have top down pics of lambo’s and corvettes and other cars can I use those type of cars in my game or is it copy write what do you think
I wouldn’t use copyrighted car designs or trademarked names unless this is just for your personal use.
If you were to release it, even for free, there might be an issue. It would most likely start with a takedown notice but could become financial.
It could also get you into trouble with the service that it’s released on. They have their own rules and some are not too forgiving because it makes them look bad and requires them to use resources.
Unless you could get permission or can afford to license it. It would probably best to not use them.
It’s best to use generic or fictional vehicles. You could draw them, find free ones or pay for them. They would need to be something unique. Even a drawing could be considered a violation.
Pretty sure Lamborghinis and corvettes are copyrighted, however, you could make similar, parody cars. Kinda like how a movie or game would have a soda called something like “cool cola” in a red bottle instead of using cola-cola. Something similar enough for people to get what your trying to replicate, but not to similar to the point it’s copyright infringement.
It reminds me of the cars in GTA 1. You knew what cars they were inspired by but they were low enough in detail to be a bit generic looking.
Definitely, don’t use the car names or brands or high resolution images. There’s a fine line between IP theft and fair use. I would read up on both topics but ultimately, it would be best to use images of unique vehicles.
