Coming soon: Rock Generator Lite Beta - a free tool for the community

Hello GDevelop community,

I’m sharing a tool I made for myself as a free contribution to the community

I’m building a tool called Rock Generator Lite Beta. It’s a lightweight Windows app for generating procedural rocks quickly, previewing them in real time, and exporting them as GLB assets. The goal is to make some simple 3D asset creation faster and easier, even for people without deep experience in 3D modeling or technical workflows.

This is a coming soon release and will be published as a free lite beta version first. It is intentionally simple and focused, and I want to shape it based on feedback from actual developers.

I’ll also be releasing other small tools in the future, both free and at a very low price, with the same idea:
help developers save time, simplify repetitive tasks, and make certain workflows easier and faster without needing advanced experience.

I’d really appreciate your thoughts on this app specifically:

  • Which rock shapes would be most useful for your projects?
  • Would you prefer more rock presets or more fine-tuning controls?
  • What texture workflow would help most for your use case?
  • Which export formats would you like to see besides GLB?
  • What would make this tool easier to use for your workflow?
  • Are there any features you’d want added or simplified in future versions?

If you have ideas, suggestions, or feature requests, please share them here. I want this to be useful for the community, not just a personal project.

Thanks for your time and feedback.

Hello!

It looks pretty cool!

I guess you could say it ROCKS!

Quick question, will it only be available on windows?

Wow. Looks great.

Good question. Tall, flat, round, oval, jagged etc. Enough for variety when the texture is the same.

Have to wait and see, but will there be a setting to save the fine tuned controls as our own presets so we can apply them to different shaped rocks?

Beautiful.
