Adding a custom object as child of itself will break the editor

Thank you for reporting this. It’s a known bug, but there is no real reason to do a recursion and cycle detection is not trivial to fix so it will be fixed one day when this part of the editor is no longer experimental.

Can’t wait for that, custom objects are the future.
