Do you use linux?!

Good enough time as any to update my comment to inform everyone that yes, an antiX community member has created an antiX respin with XFCE desktop. It has gotten good reviews from other community members. I have not tried it yet as it turns out I prefer herbstluftwm when using antiX as that and dmenu seems to be all I really need or want in a desktop.

I still also use Zorin.

Hi,

Questions to all Linux users, are you able to use the gamepad extension ?

I’m using Zorin Core, and i can’t get the gamepad to work with the extension. Quite annoying since the next step of my development is native linux gamepad support for steam deck.

Feedbacks appreciated.

Hi, I also use Zorin Core. I have not tried the game pad extension. I’ll borrow a game pad from my sister and check it out. When you say it’s not working, do you mean you have the extension installed in the game and the game is not responsive to the game pad?

Whatever i use as action/condition, it doesn’t work. It happens on every project : my game and example (bomberman example).

The gamepad works well on system (out of the box on steam games for example, so i guess there is no driver issue).
I’m using a wired xbox 360 controller.

I tried every joystick identifiers (from 1 to 4), and action like "any gamepad key pressed) to just change an object position, but nothing happen, and i have no JS console notice/error.

It seems to work for me in the previews, are you talking about an exported game?

I can’t get WINE to work.

hi, nope. I’m trying to get it to to work in develoment/preview. :frowning:

Well if I remember right, I took the Bomberman example and my sister lent me a wired xbox controller. I think I used controller 1 and had it delete all the crates when I pushed any button and it worked. I noticed the Bomberman example used a different gamepad option for the players. A behavior called TopDownGamepad mapper. I didn’t mess with that but the player moved using the controller so it seemed to be working too.

I’m also using a wired xbox 360 gamepad, but i can’t figure out why it doesnt work :frowning:

I’m using the GDevelop AppImage.

I use Linux Mint 21.3, and want to use Gdevelop, but the Flatpak causes a problem so I uninstalled it for now. I know there is an app image, however I much prefer Flatpaks.

@Lucky-j , @v9um , @VadMode , and anyone else who uses Mint or other Debian based distro, or the Gdevelop Flatpak with any other distro, please check out my topic “Gdevelop Flatpak problem” in the Gdevelop general category (I have not yet figured out how to link it) and help verify that it really is the Flatpak needing updating. It would be embarrassing if I am wrong and waste anyone’s time searching for a fix when there is actually nothing to fix.

Sorry I didn’t see this, I had banned myself from the forum because: productivity.

Did you get the issue resolved? I use the AppImage version downloaded from the GDevelop website so I’m at a loss here.

@Kink One of the many issues with Linux in general is that it doesn’t like hardware, particularly stuff not specifically designed for it.
