Hang on a minute! - this might be a blag! …and the theme is actually ‘Running Wild’ or something, and while me and possibly someone else get crackin on the ‘Take Control’ theme …You’re busy knocking up sprites, and game mechanics on the real theme while were all spending precious hours thinking mmmm…take control! …mmm I wanted to make that Skalextric simulator…tip tap, bish bash…etc
But i dont really understand that theme, what’s it supposed to mean?
Taking control of something or someone!
Our team googled up the definition of “taking control” and got our idea that way!
You can interpret it how you want, but it also has to make sense to other people because one of the judging sections is on theme. I don’t like general neutral themes like this so I won’t be entering. I like it when the theme imposes more of a limit, like something specific.
But as for taking control, you are free to think of other meanings besides the standard one. For example maybe you’ll make a game about taking the Control button away from someone’s keyboard. Not likely, but it’s an example of thinking in a different way.
This is my first jam, and so i was expecting like idk, what u said lol.
Exactly, I feel like they’ve got more boring recently.
Update, actually, here’s the list of themes, I liked the Pets theme but I feel most of the others weren’t interesting.
Take control could apply to every game ever written…so it’s not a great theme.
The most interesting side of it is the suggestion that at some point you don’t have control… something or someone else does. I think that battle for control could make an interesting game that fits the bill.
I don’t really think the theme being vague matters. If anything, it shows who can be the most creative.
Possibly - i would have a go at it if I had less work on! Have a great Jam!
