I was wondering if anyone had any major accomplishment they took a while to make, or struggled with in the process, I’d like to see what it is and maybe give it a test run myself, a guide to make something cool, a game, or anything else.
I personally made working softbodies, and even have a guide to making them in my bio (Featured Topic).
i made the wait action, ,ou wouldn’t believe the amount of effort it took, truly one of the most complex features in GDevelop
I honestly can’t tell if that’s sarcasm…
I use that a bit, and it is quite handy, so good job, I suppose!
Oh I wish…
3500 lines of code, the waiting itself is fine enough but I had to bring big changes to the events system to make it possible in the first place. There are very complex scenarios that need to be taken into account, especially with object picking - the compiler needed to be changed to split an event in two, to be able to look ahead to know what objects sub events use, back up the picked objects list based on previous conditions and future usage, make future events restore the backed up objects lists, make sure the back up lists automatically remove objects that have been deleted during the wait, etc etc… It was unironically most likely the contribution that took me the most effort and programming experience to accomplish.
Sounds like a lot of dedication went into it…
On a side note, I’ve been wondering…
Where’d you get that profile picture from, it looks familiar.
It’s actually identical to someone from a server I know on Discord, their name is like Arthur or something.
Prob not you, but weird, definitely.
It’s a relatively common internet meme so it’d be no wonder if you’ve seen it before :p
