How to get more wishlists

Has anyone here every published their game on Steam? What is their advice on getting wishlists before launch?

I could try and advertise your game on my dc if you’d like

Plenty of people I know would be interested in it lol

i highly suggest videos from jonas tyroller

Yes please could you do that? Let me know if you do do it, I can provide art assets or screenshots.

Do you know him? Is there a way to contact him?

Uhhh…yyyes? i kinda know him? i do have his contact? but i meant videos, so like, i recall a video all about this topic. i can try finding it for you

Oh right. I’ll check his channel out!

I was also looking for indie game youtubers to email to ask them to include a bit of my game in their videos.

yeah…i, dont think he would do that. Maybe like a while ago when he used to do those sorts of videos? but no, and its kinda a weird method of advertising if im being honest.

I looked up how most indie games on steam get wishlists and the best advice out there is to pitch your game for youtubers to feature in their videos. They have far more reach to the public than the game developer, and people get exposed to your game content.

that is true…But also, social media in general is how people do it. Jonas didnt ask people to advertise Will You Snail, he was the advertisement

Unfortunately I don’t do social media… only Reddit, and also youtube gets more than social media I researched on that.

uh…maybe just begin? lol

i have a whole media group but i dont make videos

i have 18 youtube channels

I don’t want to get on social media, too distracting

…sorry? thats how the world works… and youre just uploading youtube videos, how complicated is that?

OH i thought you meant the other social media like facebook, instagram, X. I do have a youtube channel. But highly unlikely it will gain any traction

thats because youre not uploading anything lol

Even so, highly unlikely will get the 10k+ views I would need for my games? I see your channel only several hundred views per video

not true? bruh my marcus video got ~5k views, and that was a horrible video. Also thats very generous, riding my high i got 1k-100 views a video, now, less than 20

Yeah, 5k… not bad I guess, its just Youtube is a very competitive area and its hard to gain views right

who told you that though? youre not trying to become mr beast… Plus, the game now is short form content that links to long form

i have an ishowspeed clips channel
