Hi guys, so after a really long time, I finally came back to complete a project, I can’t edit sprites that I’ve already placed on the scene. It also happens anytime I add in the same sprite to my project. I can’t move it as soon as I let go of it. Its just stuck there like history. Anyone please help me.
Check the lock status of the objects in the instance list. To get this, click this button along the top right of the editor:
In the list that pops up at the bottom of the screen, check that the object you’re trying to select has the open padlock beside its name. Click on the icon if it’s not the open padlock to cycle through the lock stages:
Top icon means open,
Middle icon means locked but selectable
Bottom icon means unselectable
Ok, if they’re all unlocked and still not selectable, then it points to a potential issue with the editor. I’ve changed category to a GDevelop Bug. Hopefully one of the devs will pick it up.
tysm bro, also I’ve tried doing the touch screen instead (I mainly use mouse because it is easier to use), and its worked. However, I do not want to keep using touchscreen, I really want to keep mouse to drag and select objects because that’s much easier to do. I think it may be a problem with touchscreen laptops. Idk hopefully the dev actually looks into it.
I have issues where if I touch the screen with GDevelop editor, suddenly a number of basic mouse functions don’t work any longer, particularly dragging things. Do the symptoms exist when you first open GDevelop and use the mouse instead of touch?
Yes. The symptoms do show up. Thing is, ever since I installed gdevelop on this laptop, I’ve used my mouse. I’ve never used touch screen. Like ever. It was only until I learned that by touching the screen, I’m able to select sprites and move them.
