You have the luck to don’t work for any company where you have to follow the rules.
There is no point if u don’'t start with something u like.

Search and investigate early console games, 8 & maybe 16 bit machines, and for early arcade games.

Ask ChatGPT for suggestions.

Then pick one that tickles your fancy.

I have an idea for game that’s kind of a mix of Lemmings and Tetris, featuring Beavers building Dams, the little Beaver guys build the Dams, using bricks like in Tetris, and if the Dam breaks before its fully built, it’s game over.

Also a Dungeon crawling Fantasy game based on the late 80’s British game show “Knightmare” featuring Wall monsters, Wizards, Goblins etc.
