Thank you everyone for all your kind words, help and enthusiasm!

I finally made a web page for the magazine with a subscribe form. (so many things to think about and figure out!) We’ve also refined the magazine some more and can pretty much say it’s done! On with issue 2.

Big Update!

In my first post in this thread I mentioned that the children’s magazine was part of our start up personalised children’s book business.

To outline how it works… You go on the website and choose a book which takes you through a book customiser we built in GDevelop, where you put in the child’s name, skin, hair colour, style, etc. The customiser then creates the book for you to preview online. If you want to buy the physical book the customiser then sends your choices to a server that automatically builds the print resolution book as a PDF. This then gets sent to a specialist print house that makes the book and posts it to you.

This whole system has taken Amanda and I two years to build and I am happy to say that we finally received a couple of test books in the post this morning. We are delighted with them… no errors, and the print quality turned out great.

Is this a first for GDevelop? A GDevelop app where you can get a physical product based on your choices in the app?

For the time being we can only ship to the UK but hope to open up international shipping in time for Christmas.

We could not have done this without GDevelop. A massive !!! thank you !!! to the development team and this forum for your kind help and encouragement.

You can see the website and GDevelop system here.
