Let's create something big

Hi everyone!
I’m looking to form a small team to work on an advanced GDevelop game. I’m experienced with GDevelop, especially coding, events, system design, UI logic, and gameplay mechanics, but I’m not great at art — so I’m hoping to find people who can complement that.

About the Project

The idea is to create a polished, medium-scope game with solid systems and unique style.
We can decide the final concept together, but possible directions include:

  • Action RPG with skill-based combat
  • Boss-rush arena game
  • Tycoon / factory-sim with automation systems
  • Stylized mini open-world RPG

I’m open to ideas as long as the project is realistic and fun for everyone.

Who I’m Looking For

  • 2D or 3D Artist (characters, environments, icons, UI art)
  • Animator (optional)
  • Sound / music creator (optional)
  • Level designer or writer (optional)

You don’t have to be an expert — just motivated and willing to collaborate.

What I Can Handle

  • Complex GDevelop event logic
  • Player/enemy systems
  • UI, menus, saving/loading
  • Scene structure
  • Optimization
  • Gameplay & mechanic design

Team Style

  • Communicate openly
  • Share progress updates
  • Keep everything friendly and creative
  • Make decisions together
  • No pressure — we build at a comfortable pace

I’m working on the last few tracks of an album but due to how fast I make my chiptune songs I’ll def be able to supply you with some music!
Here’s examples (I have been experimenting lately)

Thanks for the reply. There are a lot of pros in this forums, and if many work together, we can push Gdevelop beyond any possible limit and create something unimaginable.

Gdevelop is helping us by also providing a 3d editor which is really good, I have custom 3d characters with animations, and if put together with the right minds, something big would come out.

I watched the video and id like to know if youd be able to also create other sounds like car movenent, weapons sounds, and stuffs like that.

Personally sound effects aren’t my forte. Although I sample sounds in my music sometimes, I don’t do stuff like that. Sorry!

Sounds great @dskyle7 - Love your ambition! I’ve got loads of different projects going on already but I’m sure you can assemble a quality team!

im an animator but not good with pixel art animations

but im busy working on my big game so maybe on small animations i can work on like enemies and the players

although if the game is using pixel art i could make cutscenes using pixel art if u give me the sprite sheets

Well we havnt decided on a game to make, but an animator would be very useful
I dont think its pixel art

okay is it gonna be vector based or raster cuz i only can do vector based animations

I think vector is best, as it can easily modified. for gdevelop, wed just convert it to raster

btw does gdevelop have some sort of vector/raster editor

what software do you use for animations
It should be able to export as png right.

Gdevelop has piskel, which is only a raster editor

i can use wick editor if the cutscenes arent that long and krita for the animations when im at home but since im at school i will use photopea

I know only two of those editors, and they both can export as png.
So I think that really great.
The only problem is a game scope, I have two ideas, you are free to share yours.

I had chatgpt help me organize one

:star: CORE CONCEPT

You are an “Outrunner,” someone who can travel between parallel universes using an experimental device called the PhaseCore.
But something is wrong — universes are collapsing, merging, or glitching, and you must figure out the cause.

Each universe you enter has:

  • Different laws of physics
  • Different versions of locations
  • Different versions of characters
  • Tech that behaves differently
  • Clues to a bigger mystery

You slowly uncover that someone else is also traveling between dimensions, causing disruptions.

Yes we do,
As youre good at drawing, and if youre less busy, you can handle that.

Hello @dskyle7!

Really good as scenario.

This reminds me of the movie I watched last night “Avengers - endgame”, regarding the journey in time.

A+
