My new game call of th void

call of the void
I’m currently developing a new game made with GDevelop that combines Roguelike + Tower Defense with direct combat.

:open_book: The concept

Every 5,000 years, an ancient magic chooses a new guardian to protect the kingdom.

This time, you are the one chosen.

Your soul becomes bound to the ancient magic, and you return as a small skeleton knight, tasked with protecting the gate that guards the portal leading to your kingdom.

But the orcs have arrived.

Some of them will attempt to destroy the gate using explosives, while others will fight alongside them to protect the attackers.

Your objective is to survive wave after wave while keeping the gate alive.

And there is one problem:

your duty does not end with death.

Every defeat is simply another part of an endless cycle.

:crossed_swords: Gameplay

The game combines:

:dagger: 4-direction combat
:ogre: Different enemy types
:ocean: Increasing enemy waves
:game_die: Random Roguelike upgrades
:crystal_ball: Different types of magic
:shield: Gate upgrades
:money_bag: Weapons and abilities
:skull_and_crossbones: Run-based progression

Weapons will have different tiers and upgrade levels, with random choices appearing throughout a run.

Each weapon can have up to 3 upgrades, while magic has its own upgrade system.
:artist_palette: Visual style

The game will use an 8-bit inspired pixel art style, with sprites around 64×64 pixels**, combined with a dark but not overly grim atmosphere.

:laptop: Platforms

PC — In development
Android — Planned for the future

:construction: Current development

The project is currently in an early prototype stage

The basic movement, direction and combat systems are already being developed, but there is still a lot to do, including enemies, animations, waves, weapons, magic, upgrades and balancing.

:handshake: Contributions

I’m also open to people who would like to contribute with:

:musical_note: Music and sound
:artist_palette: Sprites and artwork
:gear: Gameplay mechanics
:open_book: Story and worldbuilding
:light_bulb: Ideas

Contributors who make significant contributions may be credited in the final game credits.

This project is still in its early stages, so feedback and constructive criticism are very welcome.
