Right, my break on this game will soon be over, I’ll finish the first main level before uploading any new builds.
That being said, I am also going to start implementing some more features, like a high score (I’m planning on making the game similar to arcade games with multiple paths for each level, something like the OutRun series, or a game like Star Fox 64.
I know you said you felt completely burnt out after the jam, so hopefully you’ll come back after a break fully recharged and eager to try some things out.
All the best…take it easy!
To be honest, I’ve also been feeling the same way recently. Mostly, I’m motivation driven and I haven’t been receiving much feedback recently which makes me lose motivation.
Thankfully, the forum is still super active so even if I’m not working on a project daily, I can still look forward to hopping on here and hanging out with amazing people!
Yes it can feel like a thankless task this game dev malarkey. I jumped from making album after album of un-listened to music two years ago, to making game after unplayed game.
It sometimes does feel a little like hitting your head on the same bit of wall…but harder!. Let’s resolve to help each other …perhaps by coming over with a a cup of tea and pillow or bag of frozen peas now and again …right you can go back to hitting your head again this wall now!
