Neo Cityscapes: Devlog and Test Build Library (Megatheead))

I submitted a bug report post called Arrow Keys NOT WORKING on gd.games. Pretty much arrow keys do not work on gd.games safari (as far as I’m aware), I’ve tested them on a few games and the games seem to not respond to me pressing them. I even tested it on a game I made myself and still no luck.

Ah Ok.
I think GD is innocent in this affair.

The elevator trick has been something I knew about since literally my first game, this is the first time someone else found it on their own.

Also, the second level is unfinished, just wanted feedback on the background mainly.

Update 6:
Added credits to title screen (not like it matters, since I did everything anyways)
Level 1 (Westside) underwent further development

I’m also going to start on making a demo version of the game that only allows you to play the tutorial stage, mainly to put on game pages like gd.games of itch.io

I have 500 credits. Should I use them for the release of the LiDR demo release?

Don’t have any suggestions, and I’ve never used GDevelop credits before, so not sure I can help. Lost in Neopolis is a pretty good name though, are you wanting to change it since it’s a remake?

The thing is @SnowyRawrGamer there already is anothercgameccalled “Neopolis”. The less risk of getting sued the better.

I don’t think you get much for 500 credits and i think you’ll get more constructive feedback here. Having said that - I’ve just chosen to chunk my credits on the middle package - in an ill-conceived attempt to gain wider praise and recognition for my game under-appreciated gem ‘Harelines’ - Which got it’s bot spanked by dislikes when i’d paid for the 500 credit deal. You’ll just get a few people giving you gushing praise in order to gain credits and a the odd spiteful dislike - I think it’s better to waste more money on a wider audience and get the package that promotes you outside gd.games. Is it finished then?
but make sure its totally bug free first - they’re not very forgiving!

Demo pre release dropping tomorrow

I’m also still planning on changing the name. The best name I came up with was “neo cityscape” although it does sound very similar to “neon cityscape” another one of my games, so we’ll see. I would still appreciate any other potential names.

Time for the DEMO pre-release!

Changes:
Changed name of game to “Neo Cityscapes”
Added Character Select and Credits scene

I would appreciate any feedback and any bug reports.

I played to your game with the three characters.
I miss that the gameplay is the same for the three.
However, the game is fastly loaded on the web navigator and the faces of characters are nice.
What is (or are) the next step(s) for your game?

Demo release is out now!

Obviously there’s a lot more work to be done, but at least I now have something partially complete that isn’t a test build.

I think it’s time I take a break from this game. It’s been a good few weeks, but right now, I want to work on something else. That something else being…

I want to see how far I can take this system, and maybe even convert it into an extension.
