Whenever I save an animation in the Built-in Piskel sprite editor, the frames will all copy as the same one. This seems to happen at random and i haven’t found a way to get around it. It would be great if Gdevelop didnt use a software that hasnt been supported for years, because me and my friends who use gdevelop have also had this issue, and it’s really frustrating!
Could you give a bit more info on what your using? Like are you using the online version or PC version? Windows or something else?
Theres been plenty of people reporting stuff like this, but i for one use Piskel for everything and i never have this issue, no matter how hard i try i can never replicate issues like this.
Im wondering if it has anything to do with the file names or how things are being stored…
When you make a new project, do you give it its own folder? Does cleaning up the project folder help?
For example, using the resource manager to remove all unused assets and then making a fresh save on a different folder to make sure there isnt any left over image files messing things up…
Any extra info would be awesome to have!
I face the same issue alot when using piskel, but it’s pretty much a piskel issue rather than a gdevelop issue, the response i’ve been given is “don’t use piskel lol”, it’s buggy and crashes all the time. If you have steam and want a paid solution, you can go for aseprite, or for a free solution go for pixel studio. I always create multiple sprites at once so the programming part stays smooth.
is there a fix to this yet? Its been really bugging me and has stopped me from working on my game
Just for clarity on this, Piskel is not made or maintained by the GDevelop team. It’s a separate app that’s just bundled with the engine.
With that in mind, please be aware that it may never be fixed. If you are unable to work around the issue you are experiencing, you may be better off just using a separate art tool and importing the frames.
I’ve just tried to import the frames directly without the use of Piskel. But now, whenever I import more than one frame it creates it as a new animation. Do you know how to solve this?
