One of the big things that gets me to buy a game is playing it as a demo. And a fully-fledged demo at that, not one that’s reduced functionality but a complete or special demo level with all the features.

I’m with MrMen here. Coming from a time when game demos were a thing. Actual gameplay experience beats visual eye candy any day.

Agreed on demos. Seems nowadays there’s so many games out there too, visibility’s a bit hard. Having a demo not only gets your game a look-see for free but also lets people play it to see if they like it.

Have’ta say too that how a game handles is a big thing for me - played quite a few where they just didn’t feel right, for lack of a better phrase, and it puts me off a lil’. Probably missed out on a few gems too because of it!

Innovation, simplicity, and graphics are all things I look at.
