Hey!
It would be really cool if there were more ways to earn credits. Now I know that giving away these credits does cost GDevelop money, but I think these things could be fun and not give away too many credits
Forum Prizes? It would be cool if GDevelop motivated people to help others on the forum and gave away like 200 credits a month or something to whoever was the ābest on the forumā that month, kind of like new user of the month. It would also be cool if they did weekly/monthly draws that people could enter, just to keep the community active during times that donāt have game jams or things like that.
GDevelop Weekly Challenge! It would be cool if GDevelop make some sort of weekly challenge for people to complete, such as a platformer scene where there is a coin at the top of the scene, and you need to build and code the scene so the player can reach the coin! Or maybe a RNG game, where there is a 1/1,000,000 chance at getting something, but you have to code luck boosts or things like that. The reward for completing these could be credits, like 100 or 150.
These are just 2 ideas. Even if GDevelop doesnāt add any of these, I still think it would be cool to hear from the community on what other fun things there could be.
I just thought of another idea!
(Ok, I get that bots could technically abuse this, butā¦)
What if you could send credits to others?
Like if you helped someone on the forum, you can say āIf I was helpful, feel free to leave me a tip and send some credits on GDevelop!ā
Oh ok.
Thatās true that this could get taken the wrong way.
I guess incentive for helping people on the forum isnāt a very good option. Like I said before, this topic is to mainly theorize different ways GDevelop could give out more credits
I think the participation credit reward for these small prototype jams like the 3D scene one is fine. You could have one every month or so. That way everyone can get it. Only one person would get āBest Forum Userā or whatever so it wouldnāt be a reliable or consistent way to get credit.
Farming credit through promoted game feedback is also already possible but I donāt see many people do it.
