Its been a while. Decided to go back to game developing for the BIGmode jam 2026. This game will probably be the hardest game I’ve ever made, even harder than the game I made in 1 hour. Heck, I had to add a modifier screen which gives options to make gameplay easier.
I’ll share more info on the game when it comes out.
Obviously the game isn’t done yet, but it’s mostly playable now. I would recommend playing without the modifiers first, just so you can understand why I added them in the first place.
Hi Yhac, it looks great, I suggest you put a screenshot here as the current thumbnail isn’t as good looking as the game which is very nice looking. Here’s one from me that doesn’t show the very nice parallax.
I didn’t try any of the modifiers and only got about halfway through level 2.
Here are some suggestions that might already be on your list anyway. When the character falls, could it be a bit faster and have a bit of a wobble and even change animation to something alarmed looking?
The movement feels a little bit flat, maybe it could be a bit faster? Or have some variation, like a breathing animation or something to give it a bit more life, even just blinking?
I didn’t really give the character any animations because it’s (like most of the other characters in this series) a robot, so a breathing animation wouldn’t really make sense. I do admit I kinda cheaped out giving the character only one sprite, and unless I get a sudden increase in motivation, I probably won’t change it. Also, since the theme of the game jam this game is gonna be a part of is “slick” I thought it would make more sense for the character to keep it’s shades on .
