The GDevelop Big Game Jam 8 just ended, and they had over 300 games submitted! But here’s the thing, I barely saw ANY of those people on the GDevelop Forum! I get that they might have not needed help, but I’m assuming that’s because a giant group of them didn’t even know what the forums are!
So that’s why I’m wondering, could the GDevelop app get a little banner at the top, or button somewhere that says something like “Need help with your game? Post about it on the GDevelop Forums!”? I think having something like this would drive a lot more people to the site, and putting it right in the editor means that people wouldn’t miss it.
There’s a lot of people on the GDevelop discord. Which is why I left it. There was a post about every 3 seconds and that was a few years ago. So I think that’s where the main ask for help and game showcase stuff is.
It’s been a couple of years since I’ve looked at it, but yeah there were different categories but within each category, there’s just one massively long chat. A chat about everything with everybody and it’s years long.
I was talking about in general and kind of exaggerating. I don’t know if there are many, if any, servers that actually have messages every 12 milliseconds. However, there’s probably still a lot of people messaging at the same time in the GDev Discord (haven’t been there yet) so it’s better to have something like this where you can open topics.
