Upcoming Game: Dimensiokinesis (Polls Included)

Dimensiokinesis:

Survive against enemies and craft upgrades for your cursor as you dig farther down into the depths of the vertical scrolling world. Enter portals to reach new biomes and find new land to forage. Find rarer and rarer gems and metals as you travel deeper underground. Fight challenging bosses. Build bases with the materials you collect. It’s all up to you!

What enemies should I DEFINITELY add? (Pick 3 max.)

  • Giant Worm - Spawns when a “granular” block is mined, can go through blocks.
  • Demon - Spawns deep underground where magma is present.
  • Rock Golem- Spawns in caves in the rock layers.
  • Elemental Spirit - Spawns in any cave underground, type changes based on biome.
  • Mummy - Spawns on surface and underground, desert biome exclusive.

Should your cursor be able to phase through blocks? (This would allow most enemies to not be able to hit you.)

I think it would be too easy if most enemies can’t hit you. Maybe you can have a temporary buff or bonus object that lets your cursor phase through blocks for brief moments of time.

I was going to go with no and not yes, because I felt like yes, it would be very broken if you could go through walls during a boss fight…
What are your opinions on the enemies?
Also do you have any other enemy ideas?

I actually liked all the enemies presented in this poll. However, I had to vote for Demon of course, as sort of an archetype enemy nemesis that one would expect to find underground. Maybe the most powerful demons are deep underground and the ones closer to the surface are imps. The Elemental Spirit got my vote because the type can change based on biome and of course that opens the possibility for some fun unique looks and attacks. And the Giant Worm (though I was leaning for the Rock Golem) because I had already voted for 2 things that “area spawn”, so I felt like I should vote for an “action spawn” to spice the game up.

Right now I don’t have other ideas for enemies, but if I do I will add them here.

Do you think you’d like the game when it comes out, would you play it a lot if it’s up to standards?

It sounds like I would like it and I would certainly sit down and give it a test run. If I like it I would recommend it to people I know that would like it, like I have done for other games I have seen here that I tried and thought, omg so and so would love this.

But sadly I have not actually played a game myself since I started using GDevelop, other than giving a trial run to games showcased here to support developers. My free time is pretty limited so in my free time I can either play a game or make a game…

Hi!

An idea of enemy could be:

  • a clone of the player but his devil clone, by example a person in black and killer.
